Clocking up funds is fun for families

Organisers were yesterday able to raise almost BD20,000 for local charities at the 13th Against The Clock (ATC) tournament held at the Bahrain International
Circuit (BIC), Sakhir. The fun-filled family day, organised by the Rotaract Club of Manama-Salmaniya saw 36 corporate and family teams competing against time in a range of physical and mental challenges that have been designed by the club over the past five months. They competed in 12 games including a balloon chase, mind maze, baby table football and various water games. First place went to Bapco and Ahlia University and Bahrain Television teams shared the second place. Others to receive awards were Ahlia University team II for the best-dressed team, Bapco for best team and Zain for having the best cheering crowd. Thousands of people of all ages turned out for the charity tournament, which also featured a variety of activities and entertainment for the whole family, ATC committee president Maysa Hubaishi told the GDN. The ATC, which is now in its 14th year, was held under the patronage of Royal Charity Organisation chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Alongside the event were stalls, games and face painting for children, while DJ Jackson Productions and Kotik provided the entertainment.
