Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its fourth annual Fashion Show on May 2 at the Butler Country Club, with all proceeds benefiting the Good
Samaritan Endowment Fund, Concordia’s charity care fund. Tickets are $25 and include lunch, the fashion show, $5 mystery bags, a basket auction, clothes, jewelry and beauty products sale. Attendees can even have their nails done. Once again, Fashions by Phyllis, a clothing retailer who has shops in Bellevue and Meadowland, will provide the fashions for the day. Last year’s event hosted close to 300 people. The menu for the afternoon is chilled strawberry soup, Polynesian chicken, rice pilaf, snap peas and carrots, and lemon Chantilly cake. Concordia cares for many resident each year who do not have sufficient resources to pay for the full cost of their care. In skilled nursing, the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Program pays for most, but not all, of the care of residents without funds. In assisted living, however, there are no government programs to make up the shortfall between residents’ resources and the cost of care.
