Standard-Examiner correspondent OGDEN — Is your mouth watering for a juicy piece of corn on the cob Well, look no further.
Today at Fort Buenaventura, the Roy Fraternal Order of Eagles is holding its annual Corn Bust, and that means all-you-can-eat corn on the cob. “This is our annual fundraiser event that we hold in order to keep in business,” said Blair Davis, past president of the Eagles and chairman of the Corn Bust. “Everything else we do, we give away to charities, so this is an important event. It helps pay our taxes and keeps us on as a nonprofit status.” Davis said the event will begin with a breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. At 2 p.m., there will be a ducky derby along the river, and cash prizes will be given.
At 4 p.m., there will be a Chinese auction, which is when tickets for particular items are purchased and individual drawings are held for each item.
