Unexpected death can be devastating for anyone, especially children who have experienced the death of a parent, a sibling or other significant person. Children need a safe place to grow and heal and walk through the stages of grief.
Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, primary caregiver, or significant person. Our programs are free of charge and include trust-building activities and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings.
These camps are made possible by donations and fundraising efforts such as their upcoming Cornhole Tournament on April 27 from noon to 4:30 pm EST at Sports Center of Richmond (SCOR), Virginia. This bean bag battle has been taking place for ten years and those who register can enjoy live music, tailgate food and prizes.
