The Rex Hospital Open returns to Raleigh today, with professional golfers from the Nationwide Tour competing on the lush greens at TPC Wakefield Plantation.
Golfers tee off this morning with the hopes that their swings will stake them to a portion of the $525,000 purse and possibly to the $94,500 winner’s take. The field of 156 will navigate this par-71, 7,257-yard course, one that has become a favorite of many golfers on tour for its consistent play and shot-making challenges. Play continues through Sunday. PGA Nationwide Tour charity golf event benefiting Rex Healthcare support programs and community services. More than $5 million has been raised for programs. This year’s proceeds will benefit the Rex Cancer Specialty Center, which will expand oncology services in the cancer center. Today’s tee times 7-9 a.m. noon-2 p.m. TICKETS
