AMBITIOUS PLANS for a two-day classic car festival in Crowborough have been revealed.
But Mr Harding-Dempster still needs to get support for the summer event from Wealden District Council and Crowborough Town Council, as well as securing a temporary events license. The festival, entitled Bus Stop, is expected to take place on July 18 and 19, and will feature live bands, car displays, trade stalls and a number of caterers. According to Mr Harding-Dempster the event will raise funds for Eridge based Folly Wildlife Rescue Centre. He said: “I thought I would put on some kind of event and from there it has actually snowballed and it’s turning out to be quite a large show.” The Crowborough resident is organising the free entry festival with the help of two friends and fellow enthusiasts from Maresfield, Rick Blackman and Pete Foster. He said he has had a lot of interest from potential visitors already, with enquiries from Somerset, Eastbourne and, closer to home, East Grinstead residents, among other areas.
Bands to appear if plans are given the thumbs up include Tonbridge based The Good Ship, He Who Dares, from Maidstone, and The Forlorn Hope, from South East London.
