Cyclists hit the streets for NITE Ride

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several streets of downtown Indianapolis were jammed Saturday night but not with cars but bikes.
Around 3,000 riders took part in 16th annual NITE Ride through downtown Indianapolis. The ride closed many streets throughout the city between 11pm and 2am as riders rode the course, which began and ended at the Major Taylor Velodrome. “They took off and you had like all the taillights and you could just see it off into the distance and it was just a wonderful experience,” rider Marcus Ross said. Many riders made the trip from outside Indianapolis to ride in event and be with fellow cyclists. Rider Charity Crider said she loved seeing all the people. Marcus Ross agreed, “The people have been wonderful.”
“Just seeing all the bikes, all the people, everybody is friendly,” ride participant Michael Crider said.
