Dave Merriman Tees Up For A Shot At The US Seniors PGA Title 2009: Championship Played

Dave Merriman tees up for a shot at the US Seniors PGA title

The championship will be played near Cleveland, Ohio and Dave is one of only four Australians to compete.
This is the first US tour event Dave will compete in. Dave was the Cowra golf professional for four years in the 1980s, but more recently has been playing on the European Seniors Tour. Due to winning the Australian Order of Merit in 2008 and finishing 22nd on the European Order of Merit, Dave has gained a start in the $2million event. Before joining the European Seniors Tour, Dave worked as a full time club professional and golf coach in Australia playing in many golf tournaments during his career. Dave had just completed the European Senior Tour and was looking forward to a three week break. But a message on his phone changed all of that. Dave and fellow European Senior Tour competitor Mike Harwood received calls informing them they had both received a late invitation to the tee up of the Seniors PGA Tour. Dave and Mike will join Australian golfing legends Greg Norman and Wayne Grady in the field.
Dave flew out to America last Saturday.
