Denbigh Schoolgirl Gets VIP Treatment 2009: An 11yearold

Denbigh schoolgirl gets VIP treatment

AN 11-YEAR-OLD girl whose skin blisters under the gentlest touch, was given the VIP treatment at a charity premiere in Majorca.
Lauren Rogers from Denbigh mixed with the stars at the Pirates Adventure show in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity this weekend. The plucky youngster is believed to be the only one in North Wales among the butterfly children &ndash so called because their skin is as delicate as butterfly’s wing. Lauren has Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (DEB) which means her skin is so fragile it blisters and shears off. She even has to wear some clothing inside out to prevent the seam stitching from causing severe blistering. But over the weekend, lively Lauren left her troubles behind when she was one of six children chosen by Great Ormond Street to attend the prestigious charity event. Scores of celebrities attended including cast members from Eastenders and Coronation Street as well as Harry Potter’s Tom Felton.
Lauren’s mum Nicola said: “Lauren was so excited to be going on such an adventure and to be a guest at a premiere.”
