Determined Five In Step For Star Kids 2009: Five Determined

Determined five in step for Star kids

FIVE determined fundraisers put their best feet forward to raise hundreds of pounds for sick children.
Emma Armstrong, 32, from Grimsby, and four supporters embarked on a 15-mile walk from Laceby to Louth. “I’ve two disabled children myself,” she said. “As a family we have seen the fantastic work that the charity does – it is an absolutely brilliant cause. “Because of When You Wish Upon A Star, my adopted son Matthew, 22, and daughter Ruby, six, were able to go to Disneyland a couple of years ago, which was wonderful.” Despite blustery weather during the walk on Bank Holiday Monday, Emma was determined to reach the finish line. Speaking before the walk, she said: “I have never done anything like this before and I have not done any training but I am determined to get to the end.”
And she did, with help from niece Ashlea Carter, 17, Faye Westerman, 18, Andrew Nowell, 15, and Cameron Warren, 15.
