DJ Quest of 105.5 THE BEAT will host his sixth annual birthday bash: “Celebrating for a Cause” on Friday, March 6.
Proceeds will benefit The Bob Rauschenberg Center for Living. DJ Quest was inspired to assist the county’s primary treatment center for HIV/AIDS after learning that many who have the virus have no health insurance. The center provides treatment regardless of people’s ability to pay. “It is important that I continue to give back to a community that has given so much to me,” said Quest. Quest has been a major presence on Southwest Florida radio and hip-hop station for eight years. Realizing that the spread of HIV/AIDS remains a serious public health threat, DJ Quest wants to fight back with music and entertainment in an effort to generate $10,000 for the Bob Rauschenberg Center for Living. Health officials estimate there are 1,434 people living with HIV/AIDS in Lee County. The Bob Rauschenberg Center for Living provides outpatient and primary care services to 390 low-income and medically underserved individuals who are living with HIV/AIDS or are at risk for contracting the virus. Forty percent of the patients seen by Dr. Bob Schwartz and his staff are uninsured. The center provides counseling, testing, referrals, and medical evaluation. The charity celebration will be held at the Reserve Cigar & Wine Bar. Friends, fans and community members are invited to join Quest in celebrating the efforts of The Bob Rauschenberg Center for Living. Tickets are $10. Guests will have the opportunity to meet DJ Quest and enjoy food, drinks and music. The goal of this event is to raise awareness and educate Southwest Florida about HIV/AIDS through music and entertainment. The Bob Rauschenberg Center for Living relies on grants and donations to provide this critical care. This year, the not-for-profit center anticipates a revenue shortfall of $150,000.
