Doctor Thought I Was Anorexic But It Was Really Bone Cancer 2009: When Amy

Doctor thought I was anorexic but it was really bone cancer

WHEN Amy White’s weight dropped from a healthy 7st 11lbs to a dangerous 5st 10lbs, the 17-year-old knew something serious was wrong with her.
The active teenager went straight to the doctor – but for eight months she was told she was anorexic and needed a counsellor. In fact, the aspiring dancer was suffering from a form of bone cancer and faced a fight for survival. Amy, now 20, said: “It was terrifying to be told I wouldn’t walk again and that I might die.” But the student from Paisley has since been given the all clear and said: “My surgeon couldn’t believe it when I walked in and did a wee dance for him.” Amy’s nightmare began in late 2006. She said: “It all started in my hip and I had an excruciating pain in my leg.
“I was always quite athletic but I started falling over while I was walking up stairs and used to fall in the street.
