Dry Green Man Hailed As Success 2009: Green Man

Dry Green Man hailed as success

The Green Man Festival in Powys has been hailed as a big success by organisers.
Singers Jarvis Cocker, Bon Iver and Scott Mathews were among the acts performing at the three day festival at the Glanusk estate near Crickhowell. Around 10,000 people attended the sell-out festival, which has been dogged in recent years by poor weather. However festival director Fiona Stewart said the weather for this year’s event had been “wonderful”. Campers were gradually making their way home from the festival, which is billed as a family-friendly, green event, on Monday. As well as music, the festival featured cinema, DJs, comedy and literature tents as well as specialist food stalls. Organisers also aimed to raise awareness of mental health problems by teaming up with the charity Mind.
Ms Stewart said she hoped the collaboration could continue to next year’s event.
