You’ve surely heard of tennis and badminton. You might be even a fan, or a player, of these sports. But have you heard of pickleball? Pickleball was founded by Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell and Barney McCallum back in the summer of 1965. It is a paddle sport that combines the basics of tennis, ping-pong, and badminton. Currently gaining popularity because of its clear and simple rules, it is considered a fun and social sport and is usually played in doubles.
On November 16, Project Purple will be having their Fall 2024 Charity Pickleball Classic. Happening at Pickle Spot, Orange CT, this event is open to everyone, regardless if you’re a Pickleball pro or a beginner. The teams who will win will not only take-home bragging rights, but will also receive New Balance gift cards. Funds raised from this exciting event will go to Project Purple, an organization raising awareness on pancreatic cancer by funding research and providing financial aid to patients with this disease.

Every division will contain an hour of game time, and there will be champions crowned for each. Players will receive their specific time slot as we get closer to the event date.
Winners of each division will receive a $100 New Balance gift card for each doubles team member.
