FAMILIES helped raise money for charity during the sixth birthday of Farmer Ted’s.
Almost 1,000 people turned out to the family fun day to mark the birthday celebrations of the children’s activity park. After six years, owner Mark Edwards, has decided to give something back by raising money for charity. Collection buckets raised around £134 on the day, which is the start of at least months of fundraising for Rainbow House. Mark said: “We are now in our seventh year. It has gone really quickly. We are just amazed how the business has gone from strength to strength. “We have been looking for a charity for some years now and we have decided Rainbow House is certainly worthy. We are going to support them certainly for the next 12 months, possibly two years.” The family fun day included a host of competitions, a teddy bear’s picnic, a birthday card colouring competition and a magic show by Terry De Maxim.
Despite businesses struggling under economic pressure, the owner said Farmer Ted’s is “holding it’s own” and people travel from as far as the Lake District to the centre.
