PORT Elizabeth school pupils will be treated to a feast of football at the annual Mille Charity Cup schools tournament to be held at
Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University from tomorrow until Sunday. The Charity Cup is being organised by the Human Movement Science and Sport Management third-year class at NMMU for the sixth consecutive year, with the Association for the Physically Disabled the chosen beneficiary. The 21 schools invited, with 28 teams competing, will battle it out in the under-13, u-16 and u-19 age groups, with the winners of each age group receiving prizes and the cup. “The response and interest from the schools has been very good,” said tournament spokesman Nico van Onselen. “This event is an opportunity to improve the profile of soccer in the Eastern Cape.
“There are very high expectations for this year‘s event, as the tournament will be covered on SuperSport‘s Let‘s Play.
