The Daily Journal staff report As if school lunches didn’t already have a fearsome enough reputation, the Tri-Point High School FFA is planning a
Food Fear Factor competition beginning Monday as part of its National FFA Week celebration. The Food Fear Factor will be held during lunch periods, with “non-traditional food surprises and challenges,” said Diana Loschen, FFA adviser and vocational agriculture teacher. She’s not telling the recipes and special preparations in advance. Each day participants will recipe a Fear Factor ticket for their gastronomical courage and at the end of the week, a winning ticket will be drawn for a $50 prize — $60 if the winner is an FFA member. “The more times they are brave and participate in Fear Factor, the more chances they have to win,” Loschen said. The Lip Lockin’ Livestock event on Friday morning allow students and staff to vote via donations to McDonald House for a student or staff member they want to see kiss a lamb or a pig. “We’ve done kiss the pig, love the lamb, smooch the pooch and pie in the eye when you could buy chances to put a pie in the face of a staff member or student.,” she said. “It’s a chance to have some fun and raise some money for the Ronald McDonald House charity.”
