Final Fair At Old Site For Charity 2009: There Touch

Final fair at old site for charity

THERE will be a touch of glamour at Marie Curie’s Spring Fair this weekend.
Former Miss Scotland and current Miss UK Nieve Jennings will cut the ribbon to open the fundraising event on Saturday when people can have a fun day out as well as raise vital funds. The annual event, which helps raise money for the charity’s Big Build appeal, takes place at the Springburn hospice tomorrow between 11am and 2pm. The fair, which will be the charity’s last at the current hospice, will have a host of entertainment for the whole family, including face painting, tombola and various stalls. The fair will also offer people a chance to adopt a duck for the Glasgow River Festival’s Duck Race, in June. Plus, there’s a holiday for four to Mexico to win. All monies raised will go towards the Evening Times-backed Big
Build, Marie Curie’s £16.1million appeal to build a new hospice for Glasgow.
Karen Milne, capital appeal fundraising manager for Marie Curie, said: “We must raise £3.1m in the next 12 months to get our first patients in the new hospice by Spring 2010t.
