A PRESTWICK charity has pumped up the volume to the tune of £14,000.
The Malcolm Sargent House got financial backing from UK giant The Pump Centre. They teamed up with West of Scotland Control Engineers to raise the funds at a charity dinner. “The technical event was very well received and it gives us a great platform for future events in Scotland,” said Pump Centre manager, John Howarth. “The charity dinner and the amount of money raised for CLIC Sargent was fantastic and it will hopefully help this tremendous charity carry on their excellent work.” CLIC fundraising chief May Gilchrist admitted: “It hardly seems possible but 2009 celebrates 20 years of Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick. “I was extremely honoured to be asked along to the dinner and overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the guests on the night who raised such a fantastic sum.
“This donation will go a long way towards helping the vital work we do here on the west coast of Scotland.”
