Flavour Grows In FlorencevilleBristol 2009: Festival Flavour

Flavour grows in FlorencevilleBristol

The second Festival of Flavour was an even bigger success than the first, according to Florenceville-Bristol’s director of business development and tourism.
Melanie Clark said there’s been lots of positive feedback about the wine festival’s 2009 incarnation, and she hopes the event will continue to grow in the future. “The crowd was up from last year,” Clark said. Spread over three days, there was plenty of fun to be had at several venues in the St. John River Valley community. Thursday evening, people had the opportunity to enjoy fine dining at Fresh, as well as learn a few things about pairing wines with different foods. Joined by the official sommelier from Alcool N.B. Liquor, Robert Noel, guests enjoyed a five-course meal. Each course was accompanied by two wines, one from the “old” world, and one from the “new.” Noel told guests he was attempting to showcase the difference between wines from countries such as France or Italy, and wines from places like Australia, California, and even British Columbia. “I’m here to educate you as much as possible,” Noel said to the guests.
For those looking for a more basic wine education might have attended a wine wellness seminar at Dooly’s.
