DOON Valley boxers will float like a Butterfly and sting like a bee for charity.
Butterfly Events run by Dalmellington Fund-raiser Lorna Dempsey will hold the Gents boxing night at Ayr Racecourse this Friday “This event is a great, affordable, manly night out with something for everyone. I might even have a few wee surprises up my sleeve.” Guests will be treated to a drink on arrival and a three course meal. Guest speaker Sandy Strang will provide the entertainment, followed by a six bout boxing show promoted by Doon Valley Amateur Boxing Club and MC Tam Cowan who is sure to get the 600 strong crowd on a high. Mrs Dempsey continued: “We have been extremely lucky with the donation of amazing and unique prizes for our 10 lot grand auction. The most unique being a drum skin signed by Roger Taylor (Queen), Mike Rutherford (Genesis), Kenny Jones (The Who & Small Faces) and Eric Clapton. This prize is a total one off, which we know will drum up some excitement.” Other prizes on offer are two tickets for admission on Saturday to the Golf Open 2009 at Turnberry, an amazing abstract painting of Elvis by Scottish Artist Derek Collins and two tickets for a helicopter trip around Loch Lomond.
