Four Fab Bands Play Fundraiser 2009: Local Bands

Four fab bands play fundraiser

Four local bands have come together to host a charity event at the Masonic Hall in Frome on Saturday, May 30.
The Collaborators, Tumbleweed Jim, Blue Rock and Frogbelly will all donate their time for free in a special live band night to raise funds for the Frome-based charity Positive Action on Cancer (PAC). Rosie Eliot, event fundraiser for PAC, said: “We are delighted to say that all the bands and the PA engineer have given us their time and performances for free. “So now we just need an audience to support this event. All proceeds will go to PAC.” Bugsy, The Collaborators’ frontman, said: “We are looking forward to playing an electric set at the Masonic Hall to compliment the unplugged set we performed at the Acoustic Plus show at the Cheese and Grain last month.” Rosie added: “Another Cheese and Grain favourite, Tumbleweed Jim, will also be playing alongside the local six-piece r ‘n’ b band Blue Rock who will definitely get you up on your feet and dancing. “The fourth band, Frogbelly, made their debut at Bladefest last summer and have since performed at the Grain’s Acoustic Plus.”
Toby, who plays the mandolin, harmonica, double bass and stomp box for Frogbelly, said: “If you are looking for something a bit different and want something that will make you have fun and join in, this Live Band Night will definitely be the place to be.”
