In a special function at Waialae Country Club today, the Friends of Hawaii Charities Inc. distributed their $1M fundraising goal to more than 130 charities that help those in need.
The FOHC have been running their annual Drive To A $Million campaign for five years in conjunction with the Sony Open and Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. Among the charities supporting women, children, the elderly and those in need in Hawaii who will benefit from the achievement are the Peanut Butter Ministry that combats alcoholism, and Read Aloud America that promotes family literary.
The remarkable fundraising goal of $1M by the Friends of Hawaii is in addition to the $9M raised over the last 10 years, and distributed to more than 350 charities.
