Also, throughout the day, local pole dancing instructor Miranda Goldring from Pole Affinity will give one to one pole dancing demos and lessons. On top of this there will be food available with personal waiters to look after you. Organiser, Stephanie Johnstone (also known as DJ Dizzy Steph), said: “Barnstaple hasn’t seen an event like this before, so we have made sure it’ll be fun for everyone by giving people the opportunity to dance on podiums, enter competitions and raffles, take part in free pole dancing lessons throughout the day (courtesy of Pole Affinity Barnstaple) and of course enjoy the best in dance music from local girls. We also have a very big treat in-store for the women who take part during the afternoon.” “Female DJs are rare in Devon,” she said. “In fact, each and every DJ didn’t know about one another until Rave 4 Life. We were all shocked to learn there are 11 of us in the same area.” Stephanie wants as many people as possible to attend the Rave 4 Life event, she said: “We live in a world now, where everyone knows somebody else close to them who has had cancer. I think people should come to Rave 4 Life, to show support for the incredible charity itself, and the local girls who will be putting on an amazing show.” “When the music stops at midnight, I hope people will walk away feeling a sense of achievement, knowing they’ve done their bit to help thousands of others. I also hope women take away a new found confidence, after trying out some pole dancing lessons and podium dancing. “Lastly, a lot of women will be leaving the event with loads of new friends. The Rave 4 Life team are a very friendly bunch, so come over and we’ll have a dance.”
