At the wake of Typhoon Glenda (international name Rammasun), youth and student groups immediately mobilized to extend help in various communities affected by the exiting typhoon.
Under the banner of Tulong Kabataan, a youth-led relief and rehabilitation volunteer network organized by various youth organizations and student councils in the Philippines, youth volunteers set up relief centers and drop-off points in various areas in Metro Manila and nearby provinces to collect donations for the victims of the recent Typhoon Glenda (international name Rammasun).
Volunteers also set up soup kitchens in several evacuation centers, initially in the cities of Manila, Caloocan, Valenzuela, and Malabon to provide hot meals to evacuees.
Tulong Kabataan relief centers will be in operation 24 hours today and in the next few days to collect and dispatch donations, Zapata said. Priority for donations is food items and medicine. We also accept cash donations for the operations of the soup kitchens, she explained.
