Daniel Somers was a decorated veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, who served bravely and returned home with unseen wounds. Despite his sacrifices, he faced immense challenges—severe PTSD, a traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain. With inadequate support, Daniel tragically took his own life in 2013, leaving behind a letter that revealed the harrowing reality many veterans endure. His story serves as a stark reminder that the battle doesn’t always end on the front lines; it often continues when our heroes return home.
In honor of veterans like Daniel, the 4th Annual Helping Heroes Golf Tournament aims to ensure that those who have served are not forgotten. This tournament, taking place on October 14, 2024 at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club, is more than just a day on the greens—it’s a chance to stand in solidarity with veterans who need our support.
Participants will tee off in a spirit of camaraderie, all while raising essential funds to support veterans facing similar struggles. Your involvement will directly contribute to programs that provide mental health services, physical rehabilitation, and other critical support for veterans in need.
By joining this event, you’re helping to prevent stories like Daniel’s from happening again. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
