’s Joel Madden was on tour last summer with a mission to help raise awareness about the crisis in the Congo among the band’s
fans. He couldn’t shake the sense that he should be doing something to help after hearing about violence against women and children in the Congo. HOPE Charity Poker Tournament A poker tournament goes all in for charity. Madden teamed up with teamed up with HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere), a nonprofit focused on involving artists and their contributions in campaigns, programs and events to support social projects involving education and world peace. The collaboration brought together artists, musicians and creatives on May 7th, to the in Santa Monica for the Vice For Nice Poker International co-hosted by Reid Scott and Joel Madden.
Following the reception, Fred Segal-Conveyor closed its doors to host a private charity poker tournament. The eight tables packed quickly as players bought in for a good cause.
