There was lots of horsing around, but it was all for a good cause when the Plantation Acres Saddle Club held its second annual
show to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County. The show held recently at the Plantation Equestrian Center featured competitions, barrel racing, auctions — even a progressive barn dinner, a pot luck where participants moved from barn to barn for each course. Kristene Lundblad of Plantation, a board member of both clubs, got the idea to put together the charity show last year. ‘I had been to other charity horse shows and I thought, Wouldn’t it be great to have one for the Boys and Girls Clubs’ ” she said. $11,000 RAISED The inaugural event raised $11,000. ”It’s a great organization. They do so much for the kids — they really help nurture and teach them,” said Lundblad, who serves as chairwoman of the charity horse show.
Margot Booth, who works with the events department at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, was on hand to help with the silent auction and raffle.
