Hundreds Back Pet Charity 2009: Fundraising Family

Hundreds back pet charity

A FUNDRAISING family day and a dog show were held yesterday at the British Embassy’s garden in Manama.
More than 300 people participated in the event, aimed at raising funds for Tony Waters, ‘the Dogfather’. Mr Waters and his animals had to leave their home in Karranah in June when all tenants were asked to move from the compound for renovation work. Funds raised at the event will go towards finding a suitable house for Mr Waters and his animals. Mr Waters, who is member of the Bahrain Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA) and Cat Society of Bahrain and Pet Animals (CSBPA), has 170 animals he had rescued, including cats, dogs, a rabbit and birds. “I am working for charity and whatever organisations that work for the welfare of animals,” said Mr Waters.
“I love my job and what I am doing by rescuing the animals and finding them homes. I am so happy that many have come to support me.
