Hydrocephalus is a condition that causes a buildup of fluid in the brain. It often comes along with spina bifida, which causes the spine and spinal cord not to fully develop. These conditions can be managed with various treatments, but these often have to be ongoing throughout a patient’s life. Without them, symptoms could worsen, sometimes causing permanent damage. In order for people with hydrocephalus and spina bifida to get the support they need, others need to be informed about these conditions. Spreading awareness and increasing the research done on these conditions can greatly improve the quality of life for people living with them and can even save lives.
Hydrocephalus Canada is an organization that helps people with both spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Their work includes raising awareness and supporting research. This September, their Hydrocephalus Canada Charity Golf Tournament will be held to raise money to support this work.
Hydrocephalus Canada Charity Golf Tournament is Monday, September 11th, 2023 with all proceeds going to Hydrocephalus Canada. This signature event generates crucial funding for Hydrocephalus Canada’s programs and services for hydrocephalus and spina bifida communities across Canada.
Hydrocephalus Canada is changing lives by advocating for solutions for prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and ultimately a cure, developing and providing educational resources, establishing supportive communities, funding meaningful research, increasing awareness of both conditions and initiating comprehensive clinical care models for both conditions.
You can make a difference in the lives of those with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Hydrocephalus Canada works closely with our partners to ensure the communities we serve, continue to get access to the programs and resources they need on a daily basis. With your support, we can continue to address the challenges in the SB&H community.
This important event will not only provide support today but help us create a better tomorrow for those who need it the most.
We can’t wait to see you there!
