Diana Folkman is in training for her 10th international Women’s Day fun run. A SPECIAL fun run/walk at South Bank on March 8 has a cause close to Diane Folkman’s heart. It will be the tenth year in a row that the Jindalee resident has participated in the International Women’s Day event, which in 2009 will raise money for the Mater Hospital’s breast cancer charity, Chicks in Pink. “I have a big family history of breast cancer,” Ms Folkman said. “My great aunt, aunt, cousin, sister, sister in-law and good friend have all been effected by it.
“So it is inspiring to see so many people participate in this fun run and support a charity like Chicks in Pink because they were touched by someone close to them having breast cancer.”
