Jaguar Workers Cycling To Wales For Charity 2009: Involved Twentythree

Jaguar workers cycling to Wales for charity

Get involved Twenty-three employees from the company’s paint shop and their friends are planning to cycle along 120 miles on June 6 to raise
more than &pound2,000. The group, who are aged between 35 to 49, will travel from Jaguar Cars Castle Bromwich Plant to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Llangollen Wales on mountain bikes. It will be a bigger challenge for some of the group, who have not been on a bike since childhood. The 2 Wheels 2 Wales event was first conceived after a family member of team captain Steve Salt was diagnosed with cancer. The 44-year old from Shard End then inspired fellow colleagues to join in. He said: “I just wanted to do something to help by raising money and awareness. “We have had a few accidents during preparation, a few of the lads have come off their bikes.
“It’s a difficult terrain so we’re in for a tough time.”
