Fans of Jason Wu lined up by the masses earlier this month to be the first to get their hands on Target’s Wu collection, but in Miami, Kevin Wills and his girlfriend were way ahead. The couple spent more than $5,000 in Wu merchandise (almost the entire stock at the Midtown Target).
The couple planned to resell the items for marked-up prices. Wills, however, appealed yesterday to Riptide that he was planning all along to sell the clothes for charity. He had set up an event benefiting Dress for Success on March 4.
Well today, the Stage, the setting where the charity was to be held, emailed Riptide to let us know Dress for Success has canceled the event and to clarify that the Stage was “not aware of the controversy.”
The flyer was never approved by The Stage and the information we were provided at the time of booking was that the sole purpose of the event was to raise funds for Dress for Success Miami. In the end … the event was cancelled by Dress for Success.
We reached out to Wills for to comment on The Charity Event Stage’s cancellation.Jason Wuclaims he’s been misunderstood yet again.
