Jercinovich Hanson Minga And Lemon Honored 2009: Tears Joy

Jercinovich Hanson Minga and Lemon honored

There are always tears of joy at the Fallbrook Community Student of the Month breakfasts and the May event was no different.
Because it was the last breakfast for the 2008-2009 school year, it was doubly a time of reflection. The student honorees were outstanding in various ways and their teachers, friends and parents shared some remarkable stories. “We love to hear your stories we love to hear where you are going,” said Sue Johnson, who has been the emcee for the event since it began in 1997. The May Student of the Month honorees are Jeremy Hanson, Carolyn Jercinovich and Christiana Minga of Fallbrook High School and James Lemon of Oasis High School. The students were presented stunning Lamp of Knowledge Medals by American Legion Post 365 representative Frank Larkin. Jercinovich, a senior at Fallbrook High School, was given a testimonial by Fallbrook High teacher Connie Fellios, who shared that Jercinovich is taking AP classes, is competitive and determined and is only one of four seniors who have been on the academic team all four of their high school years. Fellios mentioned that Jercinovich applies the same intensity to her extracurricular activities. This athlete excels at cross-country as well as track and field. She is a member of Warriors for Christ and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Jercinovich worked through a difficult time when her coach and friend Marty Hauck died suddenly. A committed volunteer for National Charity League for five years, Jercinovich is also a well-respected leader. She is also a volunteer for Invisible Children, an organization that raises awareness and helps children in Uganda. “She wins hearts,” Fellios commented. Jercinovich has been accepted at several universities, is a committed Christian and serves St. Peter’s Catholic Church as a Eucharist minister, usher and church officer. “She embraces her faith in God and lives her faith daily,” Fellios said.
The Fallbrook Skilled Nursing Facility is one place where Jercinovich ministers, serving the Holy Sacraments to residents each month.
