Keith Fergus Wins Rainshortened Regions Charity Classic 2009: Keith Fergus

Keith Fergus wins rainshortened Regions Charity Classic

Keith Fergus, during soggy play on Saturday.
He held his lead Sunday, May 17, 2009, and won the Regions Charity Classic at Ross Bridge in Hoover, AL, after the event was cut to 36 holes by bad weather. Fergus finished the 36-hole tournament with a 12-under par 132. He fired a 66 during both rounds and closed out the victory with a three-foot par putt on the 18th hole. Fergus actually went to 13-under par on the 16th hole, his first hole after a long rain delay, but he followed with a bogey on the par four 17th hole. Jones, who finished second on the Champions Tour for the second time this season, lost a shot on his final hole when he bogeyed the 18th hole just before the rain delay. He still finished one shot in front of Joe Ozaki and two shots in front of Larry Mize and Jim Thorpe. This is Gene Hallman entertainment at it’s best. WOOOO!
