Langer Opts Out Of Principal Charity Classic 2009: Tournament Director

Langer opts out of Principal Charity Classic

Tournament director Jamie Alt says that Bernhard Langer (LAHNG’-er) has told tournament officials he won’t play at the event at the Glen Oaks County
Country Club. Langer cites his schedule as the reason for his absence. He will be the only player among the top 15 money winners not competing when the $1.7 million event is held May 29-31. Despite Langer’s absence, Alt says he thinks this year’s field will be one of the strongest of the year on the Champions Tour. Loren Roberts, who is second on the money list, and Nick Price, who is fifth, have both committed to play.
