Legends Battle To Win Flash Trophy 2009: Former Hull

Legends battle to win Flash trophy

Former Hull FC and Hull KR stars will once again be taking to the rugby pitch for the Flash Flanagan Memorial Trophy.
Now in its third year, the event will see legends from both sides of the city take each other on in a bid to raise money for a statue of sporting hero Peter “Flash” Flanagan at Craven Park. And with one win each so far for both All-Stars teams, organisers promise this “decider” game will be the best yet. Sports marketing and events manager and organiser Dean Hoggard said: “We have decided to make this the last one, so with one win each both sides will be trying to secure victory. “We are still holding the Flash Flanagan Trophy, but we are looking to do something a bit different next year, so this will be the decider. “It should be a really good day and we are hoping lots of people will come and support the event.” The Flash Flanagan Memorial Trophy was formed in 2007.
Mr Hoggard and former Hull KR player Jez Hartley came up with the idea of getting former players from Hull FC and Hull KR back together to raise money for the Peter “Flash” Flanagan Memorial Fund and the Steve Prescott Foundation.
