Proceeds from sales of Julian Lennons new EP Lucy, through their new artists website, will go towards charity
The Ep can be purchased at The Revolution, a new website Launched by Lennon and digital pioneers Michael Birch and Todd Meagher, to help artist take control of their music.
Proceeds from the sale of Lucy will go towards The Lupus foundation of America and the St. Thomas Lupus Trust.
Julian and EP collaborator James Scott Cook both Know a Lucy who has been affected by the disease. Lucy Vodden, a childhood friend of Lennon who inspired the Beatles hit Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds recently died from the disease, while Cooks Grandmother is currently battling the illness.
It just felt a very, very natural thing to do and almost to a certain degree, felt like I was closing a circle in many respects, Lennon said.
Show me a person whos not affected by music or lyrics one way or another. But from my perspective, obviously, I try to use that for positive use. Its always trying to either make people aware or enlighten them or tell them a story so that they can make decisions for themselves about trying to drive forward in a positive way.
