Light the Night Ottawa

Go on a walk to remember.

Did you know that globally, blood cancer is the fifth most common type of cancer? There are three main types of blood cancer, Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma. While these three are formed in different parts of the body, one thing is common, they affect a person’s blood cells that are heavily involved in keeping one’s immune system intact. For this reason, people with blood cancer are more prone to infection thus their need for proper care and treatment.

On October 24, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada will hold Light the Night Ottawa. More than just a fundraiser walk, this event aims to bring the blood cancer community closer and show those battling this disease that they are not alone in their fight. Proceeds from this event will go to various life-saving research and support programs for patients diagnosed with blood cancer.

Shine a Light for a Future Without Blood Cancers

You can bring light, love, and hope to dispel the darkness of blood cancers.

At Light The Night, the blood cancer community comes together to show those affected by a blood cancer that they are not alone. It’s a time to celebrate our donors, supporters, volunteers, and loved ones lost.

As a Light The Night participant, you’re making a difference. Funds raised support life-enhancing research, educational resources, and services and support for those affected by blood cancers.

Together, we’ll shine a light toward a future without blood cancers.

Erika Evans, a leukemia survivor said, “It’s possible not just to survive, but to thrive and to live a healthy, wonderful life again.” Let’s work together to help make life better for folks with blood cancer. Register here to join the walk.
