Lightning kick off 2009 Fan Fest

eerlendssontampatrib.com TAMPA – With the opening of training camp two weeks away, the Lightning will open their doors to fans today.
Fan Fest will take place from 3-8 p.m. at the St. Pete Times Forum, featuring a charity game with Tampa Bay players, alumni and staff skating alongside eight members of the Tampa Police Department to raise money for the family of fallen TPD officer Cpl. Michael Roberts. The game is scheduled from 5-6 p.m., after which the players will sign their jerseys to be auctioned off. Proceeds will go to the Michael Roberts Memorial Fund. The annual event is free and open to the public. Other fan-friendly activities include: •An open question-and-answer session featuring Lightning general manager Brian Lawton, with players Marty St. Louis, Victor Hedman and Mattias Ohlund scheduled for 4:15 p.m. •A public skate on the Forum ice from 6:30-8 p.m. for those who provide their own skates.
•An exclusive season-ticket holder party beginning at 1:30 p.m. with a question-and-answer session with Lawton along with goaltender Mike Smith at 2:15 p.m.
