Living Large Doesn39t Mean Living Extravagantly 2009: Resale Shops

Living large doesn39t mean living extravagantly

New to resale shops, discount grocers and the word “frugal” The nation’s current financial crisis has introduced or reintroduced a lot of people to
the concept of pinching pennies. But there are some for whom a recessionary lifestyle has been a constant: Big families. Clusters, a group for moms of multiples, will host its semiannual resale clothing and accessory event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14 at Tinley Park High School, 6111 W. 175th St., Tinley Park. More than 80 sellers will present gently used spring and summer children’s clothing sized preemie to teen, shoes and accessories, as well as games, toys, bikes, books, strollers, cribs, high chairs, swings, bouncers, baby supplies and maternity clothing. Admission is $1. Though they are hardly the norm these days, parents with five, six or even 10 children maintain a lifestyle that is fast becoming the norm for their smaller counterparts. “You pay what you can and buy what you can,” said Dan Dwyer, an Oak Lawn father of five.
“We’re always trying to tighten our belts,” he said.
