Planet xMAP USA 2009 will begin on Monday, May 4.
Day One will begin with the official Planet xMAP USA 2009 Opening, which will feature remarks by Patrick J. Balthrop, President and CEO, Luminex Corp. Following Balthrop’s speech, Dr. Mark B. McClellan, Leonard D. Schaeffer Chair in Health Policy Studies and Director of the Engelberg Center for Healthcare Reform at the Brookings Institution, will provide a keynote address titled, “The Future of Health Care: Leading Change to Deliver Value.” The afternoon of Day One will feature two separate tracks for introductory/prospective xMAP Technology users and advanced end-users, including a tour of the Luminex campus. Day One will conclude with the Planet xMAP Charity 5K Fun Run/Walk around Lady Bird Lake. Proceeds from the Fun Run/Walk will go to the American Cancer Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and BeadforLife. The Diagnostics track will include interactive sessions on current xMAP-based molecular assays, regulatory considerations, diagnostics immunoassays, cystic fibrosis screening in newborns, molecular genetics and infectious disease testing.
