Mail raises 1941634700 for Echoes Foundation

A HULL charity has been given a £4,700 boost, thanks to the Mail’s Talent Trail 2009.
All the money raised through this year’s competition has now been donated to the Mail’s Charity of the Year, the Echoes Foundation. Organisers and representatives of the competition headed to the Echoes Foundation in Gipsyville Library to hand a cheque to the founder of the charity, Claire Stockton. It aims to be a one-stop shop for children with special needs and their parents. Speaking from the charity’s sensory room, she said: “I was really surprised to receive a cheque for that amount of money. “It is phenomenal and that has nearly covered half of the cost of this sensory room. It is our special room, we love it and it is very popular.” Claire said she was delighted the foundation had been chosen as the Mail’s charity of the year. She said: “Because the foundation was so new, I didn’t think we would be successful.
“So when I found out we were I was jumping around my lounge, I was really happy.
