A MAN lost a finger tip during an incident at a charity fundraiser.
Police were called to Exeter City’s Centre Spot bar on Saturday night after it happened. Guests had gathered at the pub to raise funds for children’s charity SOS Global. The injured man, thought to be in his 40s, has not been named. He was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital by paramedics. He was allowed home from hospital after treatment, but the missing end of his finger has not been found. Police responded to the emergency call from the city’s pubwatch radio alert scheme at about 11pm. City councillor Marcel Choules, who was working as a door supervisor at a city pub, picked up the message on his radio. “The message came over the radio link which is used to warn licensed premises of any trouble,” he said. “Messages are also picked up by the police and it said that some trouble had kicked off at Centre Spot. We heard there had been several assaults during a fight there and that one man had lost part of his finger.”
Mr Choules, who has been supervising on doors of licensed premises in the city for 36 years, added: “The message said some people had allegedly been assaulted in the toilets at Centre Spot.
