BY SCOTT BRODEN • SBRODENDNJ.COM • April 24, 2009 Greenhouse Ministries has partnered with Stones River Mall to help tornado recovery by providing needed
household items and furniture for victims while setting up a location for people to drop off such donations. Meanwhile, a separate fundraising event at the Oreck Clean Home Center at The Avenue Murfreesboro on Saturday will generate funds to assist tornado victims through Greenhouse. Beginning today at Stones River Mall, Greenhouse will operate a furniture and household items warehouse at the old Goody’s location at the mall. The warehouse will be open Monday to Saturday to help tornado victims get the items they need, as well as give donors a place to take their donations, according to Greenhouse. Greenhouse says many volunteers and donations are needed for this project. Volunteers are needed to staff the location Monday through Saturday and help tornado victims find the items they need. Greenhouse Ministries will also accept donations of new or clean and gently used furniture, kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes, utensils), and linens. The warehouse will not accept toys, clothes, or miscellaneous items.
“We greatly appreciate the mall’s generosity in letting us use a central location that makes it easy for people to drop off donations and tornado victims to pick up the items they need,” said Cliff Sharp, Greenhouse Ministries executive director.
