The Fremont Street Experience will be going back to the “Summer of ’69.” Performances will run from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend.
The lineup includes performances by The Guess Who, Jefferson Starship, The 5th Dimension and even Three Dog Night, just to mention a few. Bring back memories You bet. Let’s face it, the music from 40 years ago was pretty good – and I should know! For those who missed “Mamma Mia” at Mandalay Bay and can still remember the Swedish band ABBA, here’s your chance to reunite. The Las Vegas Hilton has booked what has been acclaimed “the greatest tribute band around” when Abbacadabra will appear for three nights only starting June 12. Call the Hilton’s box office (702) 732-5755 for ticket information. Abbacadabra is managed by the Mirage Tribute Bands, headed up by Jerry Greenberg and James Elliot. Greenberg signed ABBA in 1974 to their first U.S. deal when he was the president of Atlantic Records. He claims to knows them inside and out. Elliot says Abbacadabra is like watching the real deal. Carmen Electra will make a guest appearance at MGM’s Crazy Horse Paris for one week beginning July 8. Another lineup change coming up is Holly Madison’s replacement of Kelly Monaco in Peepshow at Planet Hollywood on June 7. One of the original plans for the show was to change some of the leads every three months. Now that I mentioned Carmen, I have to boost Chelsea Handler’s show on June 20 at the new Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. I keep plugging Chelsea great E! show “Chelsea Lately” weeknights so that she will book me. C’mon Chelsea, I am great for ratings!
Time to get serious for a minute. The words were eloquent as friends spoke at the Memorial Service for at the Encore last week. Danny’s longtime manager, Chip Lightman thought it only appropriate to offer a limited number of invites to Danny’s fans on his website. His three children, who idolized him, spoke eloquently at the service.
