Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry (Montgomery Gentry) led an annual chain of bikers, for charity, through the hills of Las Vegas on Sunday, to a seven hour country music concert, preceding the 42nd ACM (Academy of Country Music) Awards.
The ride started at the Las Vegas Harley Davidson dealership with bikers paying a minimum of $30 to follow the Montgomery Gentry led procession up to the concert, which was held at Las Vegas’ famous five blocks, Freemont Street Experience.
The first year, the ride began with 30 something odd bikes, and this year had a number of bikes somewhere in the thousands, with 600 hundred pre-registrations and the rest walk-ins (or rather ride-ins).
The ACM has helped raise over $1.5 million for charities and organizations world-wide, and has been dedicated to the awareness, growth and education of music.
This year the ACM will award Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks the ACM/HOME Depot Humanitarian Award for the ongoing support of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and other continuing charity work.
Montgomery Gentry, who led the annual charity motorcycle ride to the seven hour country music concert, are among nominees for awards at the 42nd Academy of Country Music Awards which will take place on May 15.
