Nancy Reagen presents ‘Champions of Children’ award to Brooke Shields following a charity fashion show

Former First Lady, Nancy Reagan presented Brooke Shields and her husband Chris Henchy with the ‘Champions of Children’ award at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon.
The award was given after a charity fashion show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue and as part of a huge annual charity luncheon event held by the Colleagues.
This years massive event attracted actresses Penelope Ann Miller and Angie Harmon and model-actress Molly Simsamong many other notables.
The luncheon was held after a short reception where guests had a chance to mingle with the actress, who once had a cameo on Different Strokes, and former presidents wife Nancy Reagan, and was followed by the Saks Fifth Avenue fashion show with designs by Oscar de la Renta, then later on by an awards ceremony.
Nancy is usually known to present the award inspired by her late husband, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award, but on Tuesday presented Brooke Shields, who has in the past been publicly criticized by other well known celebrities, with the well deserved ‘Champions of Children’ award.
Brooke Shields supports the charities, Capuchin Food Pantries, Project A.L.S., The Art of Elysium, Toys for Tots and the World Smile Foundation.
