National Windsurfing Week 2009 9 Days 50 Plus Events And Wind 2009: Cheaper Cars

National Windsurfing Week 2009 9 days 50 plus events and wind

From cheaper cars to free sail numbers.
Some thank yous for joining the UK’s biggest boating organisation. The biggest difference between this years National Windsurfing Week and the 2008 event was the weather, most importantly the wind. Last year there was little if any wind, but this year the week was blessed with plenty of wind and some blue sky and sunshine. Lots of RYA centres reported a big interest in lessons for beginners and taster sessions. Brogborough Lake had more than 150 people attend their taster sessions over the Bank Holiday Weekend and other centres reported a similar level of success. Midweek the wind blew and blew. Probably too much for a raw beginner, but enough for demo sessions, guru clinics and improver’s to get some quality water-time and promote windsurfing. The second weekend saw sun and wind on the south coast, perfect conditions for an introduction to the sport. Overall it was a great week and we are already hoping for similar weather next year! Many thanks to all those that took part – The National Windsurfing Week team
