Own a piece of history from the opening night at the new Alex Box Stadium.
The first pitch will be enshrined in the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame. However, you can own the ball that was used to record the first out by bidding now on LSUauction.net. The auction will end Monday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. CDT. After more than 70 years at the original Alex Box Stadium just down the street, the LSU baseball team moved into a new 9,200-seat venue at the corner of Nicholson Dr. and Gourrier Dr. on the southwest side of LSU’s campus. The Tigers opened the $35 million facility on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at 7 p.m. against Villanova. Minimum bids and bid increments apply. Additional shipping costs will be incurred for auction winners unless item is picked up at the LSU Athletics Department by appointment. NCAA guidelines require that the following conditions be met in regards to institutional memorabilia and autographs: 1. The auctioned item may not be used in fundraising events for any high school organization, high school fund raising event that will benefit a charity or educational project or any high school or prospect-aged individual. High school is defined as grades nine through twelve.
2. All monies derived from the promotions activity or project must go directly to the charity, non-profit agency or educational institution listed above.
